How to Set Up Epix IPTV on Firestick in 5 Minutes

Brand-new Firestick or seasoned cord-cutter — same five steps. Downloader code, install, paste your code, stream.

Setup Guide · Updated May 15, 2026 · 7 min read

If you just bought an Epix IPTV subscription (or grabbed the 24-hour free trial), the Amazon Firestick is the fastest path from order email to live TV on your couch. The whole install takes about five minutes, and you don't need a computer, a USB stick, or any technical skill beyond typing a six-digit number with the remote. The Firestick already runs Fire OS — a stripped-down Android — so the Epix IPTV app feels right at home. Below is the exact path I walk every new customer through. Follow it top to bottom and you'll be watching Sky Sports, ESPN, or Netflix-style on-demand before your tea cools down.

Before you start — what you need

  • An Amazon Firestick — any model works: the original Stick, 4K, 4K Max, or the Cube. Even a 2017 Stick still installs Epix IPTV without complaint.
  • WiFi connected and working. For smooth HD streams you want at least 10 Mbps; for 4K, 25 Mbps.
  • Your Epix IPTV activation code. This arrives in the welcome email seconds after checkout — subject line "Your Epix IPTV is ready". If it didn't land, check your spam folder or ping us at /contact.
  • The free Downloader app by AFTVnews (orange icon, available in the Amazon App Store).

That's it. No VPN required, no router tweak, no jailbreak. Let's go.

Step 1 — Allow apps from unknown sources

Fire OS ships locked down: by default it refuses to install anything that didn't come from the Amazon store. Epix IPTV isn't in the Amazon store (Amazon doesn't accept third-party IPTV apps), so we flip a single toggle to allow sideloads.

From the Firestick home screen, head to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install Unknown Apps. You'll see a list of installed apps. Find Downloader and toggle it ON.

Note for newer Fire OS: If you don't see "Developer Options", press About seven times — yes, seven taps — to unlock it. On the very latest builds (Fire OS 8 and up), the option moved to Settings → My Fire TV → About → Apps from Unknown Sources. Same toggle, slightly different home.

Step 2 — Install the Downloader app (if you don't have it)

Hold the Home button on your remote, then click the Search magnifier (or say "Downloader" into the voice remote). Type Downloader, pick the orange app by AFTVnews — it's free — and click Get or Download.

Wait twenty seconds for the install. Once it shows Open, launch it. Downloader will ask for permission to access files on your device — say Allow. You'll land on a screen with a big URL bar at the top and a numeric keypad on the right.

Step 3 — Enter Downloader code 387429

This is the magic shortcut. Downloader lets you type a short numeric code instead of a long URL. We host the Epix IPTV APK at a code that's easy to remember:

Downloader code: 387429

Click into the URL field, punch in 387429 with the on-screen keypad (or your remote), and press Go. Downloader resolves the code and starts pulling the latest Epix IPTV APK. The file is roughly 25 MB so on normal WiFi it finishes in well under a minute.

Step 4 — Install the Epix IPTV app

As soon as the download finishes, Fire OS pops up an install dialog showing the app name and the permissions it will request. Scroll down (right side of the dialog) and click Install. Ten seconds later you'll see App installed.

Click Open to launch right away. Downloader will then ask if you want to delete the installer APK — click Delete, then Delete again. You don't need the file any more and it just hogs space.

Step 5 — Paste your activation code

The Epix IPTV app opens to a clean login screen with a single field: Activation Code. Open your welcome email on your phone, copy the code, then type it into the Firestick field with the remote. (If you're on a Fire TV with the voice remote, you can press the mic button and speak the code one character at a time — but typing is usually faster.)

Double-check for trailing spaces, then press Submit. The app contacts our server, validates the code, and loads your channel list. You'll see 24,000+ live channels and a deep VOD library — sorted by country, by sport, by genre.

Pick a channel. Hit OK on the remote. Stream starts. You are done.

Troubleshooting

Ninety-five percent of installs finish without a hiccup. For the other five, here are the fixes that solve almost everything.

  • "App won't install" / install fails halfway → Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Downloader and click Clear cache, then Clear data. Restart the Firestick (hold Home, choose Restart) and re-run code 387429. This fixes 9 out of 10 stuck installs.
  • Channels load slowly or take 10+ seconds to switch → Your connection is the bottleneck. You need a real 10 Mbps minimum (test on fast.com from the Firestick's Silk browser if you want a real number). If you have a dual-band router, force the Firestick onto the 5 GHz band — it's faster and far less congested than 2.4 GHz.
  • "Activation code rejected" or "Invalid code" → The code is case-sensitive and Firestick remotes love to add a sneaky space at the end. Re-type it character by character. Use lowercase when the email shows lowercase. Still rejected? Email support with your order number and we'll resend.
  • Buffering during live sports → Inside the Epix IPTV app open Settings → Player and turn on the anti-freeze mode (a small buffer pre-load that smooths out network hiccups). If that doesn't help, unplug your router for 30 seconds and plug it back in — old NAT tables are a real culprit on cheap ISP routers.

What about other Android devices?

The Firestick is the most popular path because it's cheap and Amazon sells them everywhere, but Epix IPTV runs identically on Nvidia Shield, generic Android TV boxes, Google TV Chromecast, and any Android phone or tablet. On those devices you can usually skip the Downloader dance and grab the APK direct from a browser — the steps from "install the APK" onward are the same. Our full hub at /app has dedicated guides for each platform, plus iOS and Smart TV instructions.

Don't have a subscription yet?

If you landed here researching before you buy, do this: grab the 24-hour free trial first. No card required, full channel access, same Firestick install — you'll know within an evening whether Epix IPTV is for you. If you like what you see, our monthly and annual plans start on the pricing page and the annual plan works out cheaper than two months of Sky Sports.

Pro tip: install Downloader and ES File Explorer — the second one is handy if Downloader ever fails. ES gives you a backup way to open an APK from your USB stick, your Google Drive, or your local network, and it costs nothing.

Five minutes from now you'll be flipping through Premier League, NBA, Bundesliga, or whatever else got you to cut the cord. If something in the install acts up that isn't in the troubleshooting list above, our FAQ covers the long tail, and live chat answers within minutes during UK and US hours.
